Wi-Fi IoT MIKROE Click Board wireless
The Stephano-I Click from MIKROE is a compact add-on board that provides WiFi and Bluetooth® LE connectivity to any IoT embedded application. This board features the Stephano-I (2617011025000) radio module from Würth Elektronik and is the latest member of MIKROE’s 1800-strong mikroBUS™ -enabled Click board™ family.
The Stephano-I module supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WiFi in the 2.4 GHz band and Bluetooth® LE 5 in both peripheral and central roles, offering dual radio support through a simple AT command interface over UART. It features a data rate of 1 Mbps, WiFi output power of up to 13.4 dbm, and Bluetooth® LE output power of up to 4.5 dbm. The Click board includes standard UART communication pins, hardware flow control, reset and wake-up options, along with additional unpopulated debug and boot control pins for advanced functionality.
Stephano-I Click is fully compatible with themikroBUS™socket and can be used on any host system that supports the mikroBUS™ standard. It includes themikroSDKopen-source libraries, providing unmatched flexibility for evaluation and customization. Additionally, Stephano-I Click features theClickIDfunction, which simplifies usage by allowing the host system to detect and identify this add-on board automatically and seamlessly.
Comments Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE: “Stephano-I Click is ideal for IoT, smart home, and industrial applications, enabling low-power wireless communication with smart devices and cloud services.”
A compact radio module, the Stephano-I comes with a complete WiFi stack based on IEEE 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz). Additionally, its Bluetooth LE 5 functions enable low-power connectivity to smart devices. This combination of widely used radio standards and an easy-to-use AT-style command interface makes the Stephano-I an ideal product for any embedded wireless IoT application.
The Stephano-I radio module is designed to serve as a radio sub-system that provides WLAN and Bluetooth LE communication capabilities to the system. The UART functions as the primary interface between the module and the host MCU. The module can be fully configured and operated using a set of AT commands over UART. Once configured, the module independently manages radio connectivity, allowing the host MCU to allocate its resources elsewhere.
